Q-SPD 5

The QSD 5 Series is a versatile, user-friendly and high-performance propulsion solution designed for larger medium to high-speed vessels up to 30 meters and beyond, supporting engine power of more than 3,600 hp per unit. The QSD 5 is a fully integrated system engineered to deliver exceptionally low maintenance requirements while simplifying installation compared to traditional propulsion systems. Incorporating the driveline, thrust bearing, propeller, rudders, steering links and exhaust into a single bolt-on assembly, it enables faster and more cost-effective installation.

As a transom-mounted system, the QSD5 offers greater design flexibility, allowing engines to be positioned further aft and eliminating the need for V-drive gearboxes, freeing valuable midships space for accommodation and reducing engineering runs for easier, more economical builds. Constructed with a carbon fibre/E-glass composite monocoque body using advanced resin infusion techniques, and featuring marine-grade materials such as NIBRAL and stainless steel, the QSD5 is lightweight, robust, and highly corrosion resistant. All critical mechanical components are located inboard for protection from harsh marine elements, with an oil-lubricated, water-cooled thrust bearing and integrated exhaust options available on all models. Each system is supplied with an intermediate shaft, Q-SPD specified custom-designed propeller, and matched power steering to provide a complete propulsion package. Steering is achieved through a conventional marine steering system via an inboard-mounted tiller, either supplied as part of an integrated solution from Q-Marine or integrated with the builder’s preferred steering system. The QSD5 Series is available in two base models: the QSD501 and the QSD550.
