Golden Gate Endeavour is a Success!

Dec 4, 2009

On Friday 13th November 2009, two British adventurers, Mick Dawson and Chris Martin, completed their mammoth row across the North Pacific Ocean from Choshi, Japan, to San Francisco, USA. They managed to do this in 189 days, 10 hours and 55 minutes.

The vessel specifically designed and constructed for this challenge is ‘Bojangles’. At 23ft long and 6ft wide, ‘Bojangles’ is the most technically advanced ocean rowing vessel ever constructed. Manufactured from a Carbon-Kevlar composite woven material it is incredibly strong and durable, whilst at the same time being the lightest material suitable for the construction of an ocean going vessel.

Hypro Marine worked with Mick and Chris to create a hydraulic steering solution for Bojangles, which proved to be a great success.
